Target group

This course is intended for experienced high-pressure sprayers who independently operate the installation and supervise colleagues.

 

Course objective

A High Pressure Sprayer Machine Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation, and inspection of high-pressure installations. This high-pressure course prepares employees for this combination of practical execution and coordination, in accordance with the latest SIR guidelines, including:

  • Supervising colleagues
  • Monitoring safe working with high-pressure equipment
  • Independently and safely carrying out spraying activities

 

Learning outcomes

After completing this high-pressure course, a High Pressure Sprayer Machine Operator is able to:

  • Select the correct high-pressure installation and nozzle for a specific task
  • Instruct colleagues based on the work assignment or permit
  • Supervise safe layout of the work area and proper communication
  • Apply control measures to prevent damage to installations and the surrounding environment
  • Operate and inspect the high-pressure installation independently and safely

 

Qualification

By completing this high-pressure course and successfully passing the examination, participants obtain the SIR High Pressure certificate. 

Layout

  • What does the SIR High Pressure Sprayer Machine Operator (HDS-M) course look like?

    This high-pressure course covers both theory and practice of working with high-pressure equipment in accordance with the latest SIR guidelines.

     

    Theory

    • Machine operator: The person who operates the installation and acts as the primary point of contact on site
    • Work assignment: The document describing the scope of work, including risks and control measures
    • Providing instruction: Explaining tasks and supervising safe working practices
    • Selection of equipment: Choosing the correct hose, nozzle, and settings for the job
    • Responsibility: Ensuring proper operation and the safety of others

     

    Practical

    During the course, participants practise:

    • Setting up and inspecting the high-pressure installation
    • Supervising colleagues during high-pressure operations
    • Performing inspections using the SIR checklist
    • Interpreting the nozzle selection table and pressure loss table

     

    The SIR examination

    The course is concluded with a theoretical and practical examination, demonstrating that the participant can correctly set up the installation, supervise colleagues, and work safely in accordance with SIR regulations.

  • Classroom-based

    This course is delivered in a classroom setting at our location in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. During the course, you will work in a small group under the guidance of experienced trainers from the field. This ensures that participants not only learn the theory but also apply it immediately in realistic working situations.
